Beautiful place to stay Trip Advisor May 2010
My husband and i have just returned from spending one night at Nent Hall to celebrate our anniversary. As we checked in the guy at the desk was friendly and welcoming and even upgraded us to a superior four poster room *free* of charge! The room was lovely, a good size, clean, cosy, with gorgeouse views (Rm19) the bed was comfortable and the linen smelt of nice washing powder! We ate in the bar on the evening which was typical pub grub with nice surroundings and fire on the go !! we asked if we could take two wine glasses up to our room which was obliged along with an ice bucket for our own champagne!!Breakfast was really enjoyable and we were really looked after, nothing was too much trouble. Definatly go againx

Excellent Stay Late Rooms April 2010
Very welcoming staff, great service at breakfast, enjoyable breakfast set you for the day. Rooms clean and tidy, really comfy bed. Great value for money, food from bar menu excellent, bar staff friendly and helpful. Really quiet location even though on the main road it isn't the busiest. Would recommend it to friends and will be returning soon.

Just what we needed Late Rooms March 2010
After a long, hard, Friday night drive up the A1 and through the hills we were pretty tired when we reached the hotel but a friendly smile from the receptionist and an unfussy registration meant that we were in our room very quickly.
With plenty of space and a rather lovely four-poster bed to climb into the room was excellent and we were rewarded in the morning with fabulous views across the hills.
Breakfast was unhurried and very well presented by staff who were quite genuine in their desire to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
I have no problem, whatsoever, in recommending this hotel to anyone looking for a warm and comfortable place to stop awhile and enjoy a more relaxed pace of life.

Nent Hall Valentines weekend Late Rooms
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Nent Hall. The staff should be credited with creating a friendly home-from-home atmosphere. Our room was very clean, warm and comfortable - and the four poster bed was so cosy neither of us wanted to get up! Although we didn't eat in the restaurant we did eat in the Coach House Inn adjoining the hotel. Lovely pub food, Allendale beer well worth a try and all very reasonably priced. We loved our little escape to the winter wonderland of Nent Hall and will be recommending it to our stressed out work colleagues as a real getaway-from-it-all retreat.
The friendly and helpful staff, attractive lounge, comfortable bedroom, delightful bar area, spacious dining room, and delicious food. I booked 4 rooms for our golf party, and everything during our stay was perfect. Booking.com Feb 2010
Hidden Gem Trip Advisor Feb 2010
A beautiful country house hotel. Recently refurbished and under new management. From the moment my friend and I arrived we we treated like royality. We stayed in a lovely twin room which was spotless. Best two nights sleep I have had in months. Bathroom was immaculate. Breakfast was a cumbrian feast which set us up for the day. We dinned in the attached Coach House two nights running (restuarant closed as low season) and the food was devine. The lamb shank was superb - on par with any I have eaten in 5* restuarants. Surrounding gardens and scenery was beautiful especially under all the snow. It was like a christmas card scene.
